The Media Standards Trust is looking for interns.
The successful candidates will help:
- gather information for and administer our online services, www.journalisted.com and www.churnalism.com
- conduct research and data entry, including tracking complaints and corrections in the UK press
- set up and support our forthcoming events
- administer the Orwell Prize, Britain’s most prestigious prize for political writing (www.theorwellprize.co.uk) and related projects (orwelldiaries.wordpress.com, theroadtowiganpier.wordpress.com).
Applicants should have a keen interest in the news media, a high level of awareness of news and research tools on the internet, and a good understanding of the media, social media and current affairs. Good organisational, time management, research and computer skills are essential.
We are looking to appoint interns starting on the following dates for 6 week periods:
- 28th March 2011
- 9th May 2011
- 20th June 2011
- 1st August 2011
- 12th September 2011
- 24th October 2011.
Internships last for six weeks, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (or 10am-6pm). Please make clear your availability in your covering letter. The internship will be based in London. We pay £150 per week in expenses.
